The Netherlands may be small, but Dutch people are scattered all over the world. So when I found myself on the other side of the globe surrounded by fellow Dutchies, without a completely different culture around me, it felt a bit surreal. Curaçao is where many Dutch travelers escape the cold winter to unwind in the sun, all while still feeling a touch of home. Bitterballen on the beach, Dutch voices everywhere… familiar and tropical all at once.
