Working With WanderfreePeru: Uros Islands
In collaboration with Wanderfree Peru, I had the chance to visit the Uros Islands and stay overnight on one of the floating islands on Lake Titicaca. This is the highest navigable lake in the world, located between Peru and Bolivia. The Uros Islands are man-made and float on the water—an incredible sight, built upon deep cultural traditions that the communities still proudly maintain.
Afterward, we traveled to one of the stone islands on the lake, home to a small local population. They didn’t speak English, and only a little Spanish. Their language is Quechua, the ancient language of the Incas. The island also holds Inca ruins, which of course we explored.
This was truly one of the most amazing collaborations and tours I’ve ever experienced.
