Hop & Vibes Craft Beer Festival – Creative Branding & Event Design

August 2024 – Evi Goossens

Project Overview

I approached my local café asking if I could take photos for them, but the team soon involved me in a much bigger role. Together, we developed the creative side of organizing Hop & Vibes, a craft beer festival where people could enjoy specialty beers in a cozy and social setting. I was part of the entire creative process—from concept development to executing the event itself—helping bring the festival’s vision to life.

My Creative Role

I contributed to almost every creative aspect of the festival:

·       Concept Direction

·       Logo & Visual Identity Design

·       Photography & Videography

·       Content Strategy & Social Media

The Story Concept

Everything had to be designed and executed from scratch under a tight deadline. I created several moodboards and color palettes for the café to choose from, helping define a visual theme that best matched the festival.

I love hiding subtle, meaningful details in my designs. For this project, the pattern in the logo contains references to the café’s history: old names of the building, vintage phone numbers, coordinates, Braille, and Morse code—details that reward those who look closer.

The logo and visual identity were designed to balance structure and warmth: industrial and bold, yet open and inviting. The goal was to create a visual identity that reflected both the character of the café and the festive, approachable atmosphere of the event.

Process & Approach

  • Started with an initial meeting to discuss ideas and brainstorm concepts at home.

  • Created multiple theme directions for the café to choose from, then developed the chosen direction into a logo and full visual identity.

  • Designed a cohesive Instagram feed and social media graphics, complemented by photos of the café and beers.

  • Researched and created short promotional videos for the festival.

  • Set up a content calendar to manage communications and social media rollout

  • Finally, I photographed the event itself, completing a total package from concept to execution.

Final Results

The festival was a huge success, and being involved in every stage of the project allowed me to bring my creativity to life across multiple disciplines. From brainstorming and design to photography and social media, I had the opportunity to shape the festival’s overall look and feel, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Key Takeaways

The project was especially rewarding because of the collaboration and the creative freedom I had at every stage. Even with tight deadlines, we managed to produce an engaging, cohesive festival, combining graphic design, social media, and event execution into a seamless experience.
